British Airways 777 - flight 2262 - dusk takeoff from Kingston Jamaica

Hi Everyone! It is a pleasure and a privilege to be able to upload this video of the return flight of my latest trip to the beautiful island of Jamaica.. G-VIIT we meet again! Followers of my videos may remember that this aircraft flew both legs of my last trip to Jamaica in the Spring. As luck would have it this was a case of Deja Vu as once again this fine aircraft flew both legs. Sadly I was unable to secure a window seat on the flight out - Perhaps my aircraft videos are becoming too popular :) On this return flight however I had my favourite 4A seat and I was ready and waiting to capture the action with my usual Sony NEX-5t camera fitted with an external microphone. In addition I was using a newer 16-50 optically stabilized lens which I hoped would get around the camera shake issues that were so evident in my last video. A major challenge I faced here was that at this time of year (late September) it gets completely dark around 6:30PM. This flight was meant to leave at 5:50 PM, however it did not depart until 6:15.PM. This meant that it was quite dark by the time it took off. The lens handled the low light reasonably well apart from a few times where the autofocus struggled due to the low light. Unfortunately I was badly let down by an inherent design flaw with this camera that leads to it overheating and shutting down after around 13 minutes of video recording. Due to this overheating I was unable to capture the full taxi, and to add insult to injury the camera overheated for the second time shortly after the turn inland after takeoff. Rest assured you didn't miss much as it was very dark by the end of the video. This perennial overheating issue is seriously leading me to consider retiring this camera. As ever the sounds are capably captured by an external microphone, and I was lucky enough to capture the Captain's complete PA announcement. Sadly I missed the "Doors to automatic and cross check" bit at the start of the pushback. Note that that the garbled sound during the safety video was not due to my camera - you are hearing it exactly as it sounded - there was evidently an issue with the PA. The Aircraft is G-VIIT which is a Boeing 777-236ER powered by 2 X GE90-85B turbofan engines.
