'The Mine' by L.T.C. Rolt
A story of a nasty incident in a Shropshire lead mine in the Victorian era. Very much in the tradition of M.R. James in terms of the almost casual style of the storytelling, but with a distinctly disturbing entity obviously linked to an ancient earth mound that should not have been disturbed. Note my elegant dressing gown. Sadly you can't quite see the Guinness logo. (It was a present.)
