Cerdd Dant singing is one of Wales' most unique musical traditions. it is basically the singing of poetry to the accompaniment of the Harp, traditionally the Harpist plays a set tune and the singer joins in half way through making up the melody as he goes whilst making sure to end the verse the same time as the Harp tune ends. This is a classic Cerdd Dant Harp tune - Llwyn Onn (The Ash Grove). The words are those of the 18th Century poet and playwright Twm o'r Nant, it lists all the career choices that where available at the time, the title can be translated as (any possible way to avoid poverty)
