Jimmy Butler. 6x NBA All-Star. 2023 All-NBA Second Team. 2023 Eastern Conference Finals MVP. 4x All-NBA Third Team. 5x All-Defensive Second Team. 2015 NBA Most Improved Player. 2021 NBA steals leader. 2016 Olympic Gold medalist. Jimmy Butler gets rightfully praised for his leadership and his ability to put the team on his back as needed. Since 2020, the Miami Heat have been to the Finals twice and were a missed three pointer away against the Celtics in Game 7 from making a third trip. They are largely buoyed by Butler’s heroics and carrying the offensive load through his scoring but not nearly as much is made of his passing and playmaking. He’s an unselfish player who makes the right reads all the time and his ability to manipulate the defense in order to get his guys shots should be discussed more. Per Cleaning the Glass, he was in the 97 percentile for forwards in assist percentage. Above him were the likes of Josh Giddey, Khris Middleton, and Brandon Ingram.
