The Only REAL Way To Tell If Your DVD or Blu-ray Movie is a Bootleg
Tips From The Video Vault: The Only REAL Way To Tell If Your DVD or Blu-ray Movie is a Bootleg Did you buy a movie cheap online, or secondhand and have a sinking feeling it might be a bootleg? There are plenty of ways to tell that it might be, but there's only one POSITIVE way to know for sure. Check out the "secret" in this video, and always know what you're buying! NOTE Obviously there is one big exception when it comes to a movie being a "bootleg" just because of the tip here - many independently produced movies and/or "burn on demand" titles, whether on DVD or Blu-ray, are not pressed discs, and will look just like this. As a filmmaker myself who uses duplication (as opposed to replication), my movies all look just like this - but as it's the only way they were released, they're still official. Companies like Warner Archives and even Amazon do "burn on demand" titles to save money. They're official, but they're still duplicated. Basically though, if it's a big-budget Hollywood movie (or even a high-end indie film) that shouldn't be a DVD-R or a BD-R, you've likely got yourself a bootleg!
