In this video, I teach you how to knit with two needles and shape your knitting with a round neckline using the closed chain stitch to avoid bumps and ensure a neat finish. I show you how to calculate the 8 cm decrease for the front neckline and how to cast off the stitches in the sequence 4, 3, 2, 1, which is key for a well-rounded neckline. I always mark the center of the garment to make counting easier and ensure everything is symmetrical. I always recommend knitting the back first, then the sleeves, and finally the front, as this makes it easier to finish the garment. I also explain how to cast off the chain stitch so you don't have a ladder and how to use knitting math to make everything fit together perfectly. I also show you how to make different types of collars using this technique: tubular cast-on for 1-and-1 ribbing; cables with edge stitch; and a "roll" on a knit stockinette. The center stitches are cast off with a chain stitch, then 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 on each side (See video for closed stitches without a protrusion). These 10 stitches are a constant; the center stitches vary. The neckline can be applied with a tubular cast-on and a closed chain stitch. The neckline circumference should have a sag of more than 52 cm. This is calculated using the elastic fabric of the garment. Cast on half plus 1 of those stitches in auxiliary yarn and cast on. Knit 3 cm and bind off the chain stitch on the right side of the garment. Sew the neckline with a backstitch over the chain stitch.
