Caloocan Railway Workshops - Part 1 Manila, Philippines - December 2023 Our last time, for the third time, with \still one last time to come in 2025. :-) With the still persisting rumour of redevelopment, we head on to the massive Caloocan Railway Workshops for a two part walk around this amazing, and historic, location. Who knows what will happen to all this stuff once the time comes. If it ever comes. All the locomotives, railcars and rollingstock that was there on the day. Change is on the horizon, the Philippine National Railways operations in Manila re about to close for five years to make way for construction work. It is expected that advantage will be taken of this time to prepare for massive modernisation work around Manila. Alas, that which I have known for a quarter of a century will now be gone. It is perhaps fitting that the declining nature of the railfan hobby there comes at this time, thus making for a closing bookend to my time trying to build a hobby to be shared by all. Morons are as morons do. My main period of interest is from the start of dieselisation, through too this massive change. We visit a number of locations from Manila, through Laguna, Quezon, Bicol, and over to Masbate.
