RE Himalayan 450 - How to Clean & Protect Your Electrical Relays
Checking & protecting your electrical relays from corrosion and dirt are vital to the proper functioning of your motorcycle's crucial electrical systems like fuel pump, starter motor, fuel injectors etc. Neglecting this maintenance task may cause corrosion and dirt to build up on the relay pins, which may cause your fuel pump, radiator fan and other electrical components on your motorcycle to malfunction. For example, a dirty fuel pump relay can cause the engine to cutoff when you close your throttle because of a voltage drop in your fuel pump circuit. This is an often neglected maintenance task, but luckily it's super easy and takes no more than 10-15 minutes and only requires some contact cleaner and some dielectric grease.
