Phantastic Phu - The Nar & Phu Trek: Part 1

The Nar & Phu Trek and how we experienced it in autumn 2025: all the details about stages, lodges, trails and more! This video is about the Nar & Phu Trek and is meant to be a trek report and a guide for anyone interested in hiking this beautiful trail in central Nepal. It's the first part of a three part series about our two weeks long adventure north of the famose Annapurna Himal. In order to reach the area, one must endure a full day in jeep from Kathmandu to the village of Koto in the Marsyangdi valley. Historically, the Marsyangdi valley hosted a great trekking trail itself: the world famose Annapurna Circuit, but this path has mostly vanished. And so we turn north from Koto and follow the Nar Khola up into the wilderness and into a steep forested canyon; at it's northern end: a hidden part of Tibet, tucked away outside of China and inside of Nepal. A land of rugged landscapes, ancient villages, ruins of once mighty fortresses, dozens of snow capped mountains, buddhist gompas, yaks and blue sheeps. In this video we show you all relevant trails between Koto and Phu including a little known but spectacular day hike up Gurusangbo Viewpoint.
