本作品は、国立映画アーカイブ所蔵の震災関連映画を紹介するWEBサイト「関東大震災映像デジタルアーカイブ」https://kantodaishinsai.filmarchives.jp （制作：国立映画アーカイブ、国立情報学研究所）の公開作品です。 『大正拾弐年九月一日 猛火と屍の東京を踏みて』（タイショウジュウニネンクガツツイタチ モウカトシカバネノトウキョウヲフミテ、1923年） 作品クレジット＝ハヤカワ藝術映画製作所［製作］、見ノ木秀吉、吉田壮［撮影技師］ 作品仕様＝10分、白黒、サイレント 協力＝吉江薫 大阪・天王寺に所在した教育映画製作会社、ハヤカワ藝術映画製作所が撮影技師2名を東京に派遣し、被災地を撮影した作品。フィルムには劣化がうかがえるが、吉原の映像などユニークなフッテージが、本短篇には残されている。 「関東大震災映像デジタルアーカイブ」では、震災発生100年に向けて、国立映画アーカイブが所蔵する約20作品の震災関連映画を、随時アップしてまいります。いま必要とされる災害記録としての関東大震災の記録映像から、より多くの情報を読み取っていただくガイドとして、ぜひ「関東大震災映像デジタルアーカイブ」をお訪ねください。 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The website ‘Films of the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923’, launched by the National Film Archive of Japan and the National Institute of Informatics in September 2021, has been updated with another film. "September 1, 1923 – Walking the Tokyo of Fire and Corpses" ("Taisho juninen kugatsu tsuitachi - Mouka to shikabane no Tokyo wo fumite", 1923). An educational film producer located in Tennoji of Osaka, Hayakawa Art Film Productions sent two cameramen to Tokyo to shoot the devastated areas. Deteriorated but unique footage of the burnt ruins of Yoshiwara (a famous red-light district) remains in this short film. NFAJ plans to keep adding new titles to the site regularly, aiming to have more than 20 titles available by the centennial of the earthquake in 2023.
