How to extract chlorine and sodium hydroxide from seawater.
This video explains how electrolysis can be used to extract sodium hydroxide, chlorine, oxygen and hydrogen from seawater. By the end of the video, you will be able to make an electrolytic cell to make your own chemicals at home using very basic equipment. Another name for an electrolytic cell is a H-Cell and it an be used to make your own chemical industry at home. Using the sodium hydroxide produced you will be capable of making your own soap. Using the chlorine produced, you will be able to sterilise drinking water while also having an antibacterial cleaning agent for use around the house.
