The First Land of Baekje Buddhism (2nd Scenic Spot) Beopseongpo is where the Indian monk Marananta first set foot in Baekje in 384, introducing Buddhism to the country. To commemorate this, the area is being developed into a tourist attraction. Supjaengi Park (7th Scenic Spot) Supjaengi refers to a forest fortress. The zelkova forest within Beopseongjinseong Fortress, built during the reign of King Jungjong of the Joseon Dynasty, is designated as Scenic Site No. 22. In May, red azaleas, tulips, and moss phlox bloom, and in June, yellow chrysanthemums and poppies adorn the park. Bulgapsa Temple (3rd Scenic Spot) If you visit Bulgapsa Temple in mid-September, you'll be greeted by a landscape of red chrysanthemums, resembling a red carpet. The 2022 festival took place from September 16th to 25th. Bulgapsa Temple is known as the first temple built by the Indian monk Marananta, who introduced Buddhism to Baekje through Beopseongpo. Chilsan Tower (4th Scenic Spot) The waters off Chilsan are Korea's largest croaker fishing grounds. Chilsan Tower is the tallest observatory in Jeollanam-do, at 111 meters high. An elevator takes you to the third floor. Admission: 2,000 won. From the observatory, the expansive sea off Chilsan and the islands floating in the waters are breathtaking. The sunset, blending beautifully with the surrounding landscape, is also breathtaking. Sea Salt Farm (9th Scenic Spot) Sea Salt Promotion Center: 411 Chilsan-ro, Yeomsan-myeon, Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do Yeonggwang Wind Farm The exotic scenery of the Yeonggwang Wind Farm, encountered along the Baeksu Coastal Road, is also worth admiring. Baeksu Coastal Road (Scenic View #1) Baeksu Coastal Road is a representative driving course on the West Coast, where the vast tidal flats and fiery sunsets merge to create a breathtaking landscape. Beopseongpo Ilbeonji Restaurant (061-356-2268) This restaurant is surprisingly large, but they provide separate rooms for each guest, allowing for a quiet meal.
