Whaleboats, a new mode of river transport currently in vogue on the Oyo-Liranga axis. Imported from the DRC, this mode of transport is competing with traditional transport by motorized canoe convoys. The downside of these whaleboats, equipped with Chinese-made diesel engines, is the release of significant quantities of CO2 into the air and oil into the water.
