Éliminer l'oxalis

How to get rid of wood sorrel, or oxalis, without pesticides. Overview. Wood sorrel (Oxalis acetosella) is quite invasive: it spreads very well with its light seeds. Its bulbils and rhizomes are also difficult to remove. One technique is to deplete the wood sorrel by systematically cutting the leaves at the base of the clump. A second is preventative: for your paths, install a horticultural tarp before spreading your gravel; it will be easier to remove weeds. In your flowerbeds, apply mulch, such as BRF, at least 10 cm high, to make it easier to remove the unwanted weeds! Third technique: act early. If you spot small wood sorrel seedlings in your flowerbeds, be ruthless and eliminate them! In the vegetable garden, it might be tempting to use a rototiller... a big mistake, because by cutting the bulbils, you'll easily multiply the wood sorrel! Use a broadfork or a digging fork to remove the wood sorrel. Finally, in the vegetable garden, whatever the weed, it will more easily colonize bare soil. To limit the arrival of wood sorrel, plant green manures between crops: in addition to fertilizing the soil, they will limit the establishment of other plants... Note: you can, however, grow certain decorative wood sorrels in pots, such as the triangular wood sorrel with its purple foliage and mauve flowers.
