This discomfort pushed him toward deeper study, reading, and verification—eventually leading him to critically reassess several claims presented as “science.” A key point Niyas repeatedly stresses is the difference between personal conduct and intellectual accuracy. Unlike many other prominent atheist figures in Kerala—such as C Ravichandran, Arif Hussain Theruvath, EA Jabbar, and others—who are often perceived as aggressive, mocking, or dismissive, Vaisakhan Thampi is known for his politeness and calm demeanor. Niyas clearly states that he still respects Vaisakhan Thampi as a person and speaker. However, respect does not mean agreement. According to Niyas, many lectures delivered in the name of science—particularly on quantum physics, cosmology, the origin of the universe, and arguments against the existence of God—lack scientific clarity and frequently contain misinformation or philosophical confusion. He argues that labeling something as “science” does not automatically make it scientific. This interview is not a personal attack or a hate-driven response.
