Superjoint Ritual was formed by Phil Anselmo, Jimmy Bower, and Joe Fazzio in the early 1990's. Then joined Kevin Bond and then Michael Haaga. The New Orleans Sludge/Thrash group was later to be joined by Hank Williams III and Kevin Bond. Their sound can be heard as a crossover between hardcore punk and Pantera. Black metal influences can also be heard in trace amounts on their albums. The band name, Superjoint Ritual, comes from lyrics found in the Darkthrone song, "The Pagan Winter". Bands like Venom, Celtic Frost, Slayer, and Voivod have been noted as major influences. Superjoint Ritual fue formada por Phil Anselmo, Jimmy Bower, y Joe Fazzio a principio de los 90's.
