How do you create warehouses and storage locations in *SelectLine neo ERP*? The data record key is assigned automatically. The appropriate storage type is then selected. The different storage types The standard warehouse has only one storage location. Detailed item assignment is not possible here. The open warehouse works with one dimension and allows for multiple storage locations. The area storage uses two dimensions, for example, rows and locations. The shelf storage has three dimensions: shelves, levels, and locations. In this example, five shelves with three levels and 20 locations each are created. SelectLine automatically generates 300 storage locations from this. Important: Once storage locations have been created, the storage type cannot be changed. However, individual shelves, levels, or locations can be added or removed later. Storage Locations and Item Assignment Each storage location can be individually labeled and permanently assigned to an item. Optionally, a maximum quantity can be specified. With the "Fill to Maximum Quantity" option, a storage location is completely filled before another location is used. With Item Assignment enabled, the system automatically reserves a previously unused storage location for the item being stored there for the first time. Defining Storage Types The storage type determines how a warehouse can be used: • Standard Storage: Putaway and retrieval are possible. • Goods Receiving Warehouse: Goods can be stored but not sold directly. • Consignment Warehouse: The goods are at the customer's location but remain your property. • Consignment Warehouse: The goods are at your location but still belong to the supplier. A goods receiving warehouse is suitable, for example, for quality assurance. Only after inspection is the merchandise transferred to a standard warehouse. Additional Warehouse Settings You can also specify a storage location, a count sheet number, and storage and retrieval blocks. Blocks are useful, for example, for inventory counts, quarantine periods, or cleaning. If a warehouse is no longer needed permanently, it can be deactivated. The existing document history is retained. On the Stock page, you can see available and blocked quantities as well as their exact storage locations. Documents such as cleaning logs can also be stored in the archive.
