Tangmere on The Dalesman at Carlisle and Appleby 04 09 25

Yes - it's Tangmere again - but this time, I'm assured by the footplate crew, she's actually doing the work. Fire risk restrictions have been lifted and the Bulleid "Spam Can" is being allowed once again to show her mettle. Unfortunately, at Appleby she was taking it easy for fear of getting too close to the preceding service train. Frustrating to see such a greyhound reined in. However, after the many disappointments brought about by this long hot summer - it's great to see a steam engine back doing what it was designed to do.
