Our tour today is in Andradas / MG. We visited the CASA GERALDO Winery and took a walk through the city center. Andradas is a city in the state of Minas Gerais. Residents are called Andradenses. The municipality covers 469.4 km² and had 40,553 inhabitants in the last census. The population density is 86.4 inhabitants per km² in the municipality's territory. Neighboring the municipalities of Ibitiúra de Minas, Albertina and Águas da Prata, Andradas is located 22 km northeast of Espírito Santo do Pinhal, the nearest city in the surrounding area. Located at an altitude of 913 meters, Andradas has the following geographical coordinates: Latitude: 22° 4' 4'' South, Longitude: 46° 34' 8'' West. Casa Geraldo Winery, located in Andradas, southern Minas Gerais, is one of the state's main wine tourism destinations, offering experiences that include guided tours, paired tastings, a restaurant, and a shop. Located on the São Geraldo Farm, the winery, with over 50 years of history, stands out for its production of award-winning wines and sparkling wines. Local Production: Recognized for its winter harvest, it produces grapes such as Syrah, Viognier, and Cabernet Franc in the Serra da Mantiqueira region. Structure: The site features a restaurant with live music, a shop for purchasing wines and regional products, as well as ideal settings for photos, such as the GR Hall. The winery's history begins in 1969 with Geraldo Marcon, a descendant of Italians who carried in his blood the love for viticulture. Geraldo acquired the São Geraldo Farm and the Bom Fim Site, where he began cultivating grapes for wine production. Since then, the family has dedicated itself to winemaking, a craft passed down from generation to generation. Geraldo managed the small winery, selling its production in bulk to other wineries in the capital of São Paulo until his death in 1978, when his son Luiz Carlos took over the winery, continuing his father's work.
