61306 "Mayflower" & Hastings Thumper DEMU head to the English Riviera - 20/06/26

Two railtours paid a visit to the English Riviera on Saturday 20th June 2026. First up, 61306 "Mayflower" top and tailed with D1924 (47810) "Crewe Diesel Depot", are seen working the 'Torbay Express' operated by Steam Dreams. This was on it's way down from London Waterloo to Kingswear (steam hauled only from Taunton). The second and more anticipated tour of the day, was the Hastings Thumper DEMU. This unit has not come down to the South West in many years so was definitely a must see! Put on by Hastings Diesels Limited, unlike the other tour this one was only going as far as Paignton, after travelling down fittingly from Hastings itself..
