A valve cover gaskets is made of plastic, rubber, or cork which is used as a seal between the engine block and the head cover. There is no maintenance on valve cover gasket but is usually replaced when there is an oil leak. Symptoms of bad valve cover gasket: ⦁ Oil leaks from the engine ⦁ Low oil level ⦁ Burn smell ⦁ Smoke from engine compartment Torque Spec ⦁ Ignition Coil bolts: 89 ± 17 in-lb (10 ± 2 N⋅m) ⦁ Valve Cover bolts: 27 ± 4 in-lb (3 ± .5 N·m) ⦁ Throttle Cable Clip bolt: 89 ± 17 in-lb (10 ± 2 N⋅m)
