Can the BSA Lightning CLX Be Fixed? DB Guntocks Tune Review

Can the BSA Lightning CLX finally live up to its potential? In this video, I head over to DB Gunstocks to see if a professional tune can fix the notorious recoil and trigger issues that have plagued this model since launch. We start with a baseline accuracy test at 25 yards using four different pellet types to see exactly how the rifle performs in its factory state. Then, I sit down with Doz from DB Gunstocks for a deep dive into the internal mechanics of the CLX. You will see exactly why the factory design creates so much felt recoil and what can be done to smooth out the action. From replacing the heavy steel piston weight, adding a Titan number one spring to polishing the trigger sears and fitting synthetic guides, we cover the entire transformation process. We also take a look at some other exciting projects at the workshop, including a unique Mercury XL conversion that brings a classic design into the modern era. Finally, it is back to the range for a post-tune comparison. I analyse the targets side-by-side and look at the recoil characteristics to decide if these improvements make the BSA Lightning CLX a permanent part of my collection or if it is time to move it on.
