In this episode of my Rishikesh Travel Series, I explore the late night foodie scene of Tapovan, one of the most happening and safest areas in Rishikesh. It was around 11 PM on a winter night, and suddenly the craving for food kicked in. Instead of staying inside, we decided to step out and explore what Tapovan looks like at night. Surprisingly, the streets were alive with energy — travelers, backpackers, foreigners, friends hanging out, and cafes still buzzing with people. One thing that instantly stood out was how safe and lively the area felt even late at night. The vibe was very friendly and open. People were laughing, talking, and enjoying the peaceful yet energetic atmosphere of Rishikesh. While walking through Tapovan, we discovered a very famous wood-fired pizza spot near a cozy coffee shop and bakery. The setup looked simple but extremely aesthetic. The most fascinating part was that the pizza was being prepared right on the street in a traditional wooden oven, built by the shop owners themselves. The smell of freshly baked pizza in the cold mountain air was irresistible. And guess what? The place was so famous that the queue was extremely long. Our token number was 84, and we had to wait almost 1–2 hours for our turn. But honestly, the wait itself became part of the experience. Travelers from different countries, friends chatting, people enjoying the night vibe — it felt like a mini night festival. Finally, our turn came and we ordered a tomato veggie wood-fired pizza. The pizza had a thin crispy crust, fresh toppings, and that authentic smoky flavor that only a real wooden oven can create. The pizza was served with oregano, sauces, ketchup, and lots of love. To make the moment even better, we also ordered hot chai from a nearby bakery stall. Imagine this scene — a cold winter night in Rishikesh, a hot cup of chai, and a fresh wood-fired pizza in your hands. It was pure happiness. Even after midnight, the place felt lively and completely safe. People were still hanging out, eating Maggi, drinking chai, and enjoying the night vibes of Tapovan. This episode shows a completely different side of Rishikesh — not just spirituality but also food, nightlife vibes, street culture, and traveler energy.
