Como passar pelo mar mais tenebroso do mundo
The Maximiano, from the Brazilian Navy, passes through the Drake Strait, the darkest sea in the world, shaken by strong storms and a current 600 times greater than that of the Amazon River. If someone falls into icy water, death will come in less than three minutes, even if they are wearing special clothes. This stretch, the shortest between Antarctica and a continent, is feared even by the most experienced sailors. See in this video, recorded in 2020, how the ships of the Brazilian Navy prepare to pass through this turbulent sea and reach Antarctica. The journey begins at the port of Punta Arenas, in Chile, and includes navigation through the lush Strait of Magellan, the southern channels, the Beagle Channel, and Cape Hornos, at the tip of South America. What comes after is what usually scares.
