2019 seemed destined to be a wonderful year for 33-year-old Edwin Bill. His wedding to his fiancée Vanessa was planned, the invitations sent, and a life together seemed imminent. But one single evening changed everything: Vanessa was killed in a car accident. "Instead of carrying your bride over the threshold, you carry her to her grave." Edwin is a Christian—and yet he began to accuse God. Like Job and David in the Bible, he openly grappled with pain, anger, and questions. Friends encouraged him not to shy away from his grief. So Edwin consciously chose to walk the path through the pain and learn to live with the loss. On this difficult journey, he met Moni. Today they are married. Looking back, Edwin says: "I never thought I would emerge unscathed from that time. That is God's grace.
