Join me on a beautiful walking tour through Altea, one of the most picturesque towns on Spain’s Costa Blanca. With its whitewashed houses, cobbled streets, blue-domed church, and stunning Mediterranean views, Altea is a true Costa Blanca gem. We begin in the heart of the main town, exploring the charming streets and visiting the local indoor market, Mercado Municipal de Altea, where you can find fresh produce, seafood, meats, and local delicacies. It’s a great place to experience everyday life in this relaxed coastal town. From there, we climb up through the historic narrow streets toward Altea’s famous old town. The white buildings, flower-filled balconies, and peaceful squares create a magical atmosphere. At the top, we visit the iconic Iglesia de Nuestra Señora del Consuelo, known for its striking blue and white tiled dome and breathtaking views over the Mediterranean Sea and surrounding mountains. After exploring the old town, we wander back down toward the seafront promenade. The walk along the Mediterranean is the perfect way to end the day — palm trees, sea views, and the relaxing sound of the waves. We finish with lunch by the water and a pleasant stroll in the sunshine along the beautiful Altea promenade.
