Falkland Palace

The Palace is in the middle of the main street of Falkland Village, Fife, Scotland and was created a royal burgh in 1458. Early in the 16th century, between 1501 and 1541, Kings James IV and James V transformed the old castle into a beautiful renaissance royal palace that became a pleasure ground for their country pursuits of falconry and hunting. Stuart Kings were frequent residents there and it is said that Mary, Queen of Scots adored it. As the palace did not open to visitors until after lunch that day I took some footage of the front to fill some time in also as it is a Royal Palace, no photography allowed inside. The tour of the inside was very interesting but it was nice to get back outside in the gardens. We didn’t get around them all so I will certainly go back again one day to see more. This is my last video of our final day in Fife on our way home from Aberdeenshire in August 2019. My videos are all non-profit and any music used belongs to legitimate owners who I give credit to when I can. Music I have chosen is a beautiful traditional piece called:- “Mist Covered Mountain of Home” arranged by Bill Gardner and played by his Scottish Orchestra from my CD with that name.
