Solar Expanse #034 | Dyson Swarm Project [NO COMMENTARY]

This time, we are expanding our colony on Callisto, which we plan to use as an outpost on the way to Saturn’s moons - but first we need to find a way to supply this colony with enough power to build up basic industry. So far from the Sun, solar arrays are of little use, and even if we could keep things running for a while with carbon or nuclear power plants, we’d have to supply them with fuel in the long term - which would be extremely inefficient. Instead, we are building what’s known as a Dyson Swarm: Dozens of solar panels placed in orbit around the Sun, harvesting its power. Even a small swarm can generate more energy than a hundred nuclear reactors combined - the electricity generated can then be transmitted through space via microwaves, which are captured by special antennas in our colonies and then converted back into energy.
