Rapier Sparring at Palmela Castle - Sebastião (Esgrima Sadina) vs Rui (Espada Negra)
Some more footage from the June event at Palmela castle, we may have another video that was lost in the recent uploads of our sabre series. In this video Rui is up against a very young fencer who started about the same time he did (maybe even earlier on!) taking the chance to test a slightly modified Historical Fencing Armoury's A.R.A.'s rapier with a lengthy musketeer blade and a modified grip section. Caveat being he could only thrust so that proved an interesting challenge. It represents a later rapier quite well and it could prove to be a good starting point for anyone wanting to get started with rapier since albeit more on the light side it still has a decent blade presence. Not everyone, but HFA delivers yet again. See you all on the next video!
