Spectacular crossing from Erve to Resegone – Magnodeno, Cresta della Giumenta, Buco della Carlotta and return from Val Negra In this video, I take you with me on a panoramic, comprehensive, and adventurous hike through some of the most fascinating areas of the Lecco Prealps. The departure is from Erve, a quiet mountain village on the slopes of Resegone, where a varied and rewarding itinerary begins. After an initial stretch immersed in the woods, the route quickly ascends to Monte Magnodeno (1,241 m), a natural balcony overlooking the Valsassina valley and Lecco, with splendid views of the lake and the Resegone mountain range. From here, the most spectacular section begins: the Cresta della Giumenta, a wild and airy route, far from trivial, requiring sure-footedness and a head for heights. This exposed but incredibly panoramic section offers thrills and spectacular views of the valley below. After crossing the ridge, you reach the Ghislandi refuge (currently closed, but often open on Sundays) and ascend to the Buco della Carlotta (which passes to the right of the centenary via ferrata), a characteristic equipped trail where you pass through a hole in the rock almost like a small cave. The climb then continues on more open terrain until reaching the famous Rifugio Azzoni (1,860 m), a classic stopping point for those wishing to conquer the summit of Resegone. From here, the view extends 360°, from the Lombardy plain to the Rhaetian Alps, with views that, on clear days, can reach as far as Monviso and the Apennines. The return journey takes place via the Val Ne6ra, a less frequented but equally evocative trail, which passes through wilder and more tranquil environments, perfect for those who love the mountains in all their authenticity.
