Lever knitting a stockinette sock in self-striping sock yarn. No commercial pattern used. In this video, we get started casting on the sock. We create the cuff, and proceed to knit down approximately 7 inches from the cast-on edge, forming the leg of the sock. I demonstrate how to hold the needles and tension the yarn for lever knitting (aka Irish Cottage Knitting) on a circular needle. Great way to knit socks like the Yarn Harlot without fear of losing a needle! Cast-on k2,p2 rib for 20 rounds Stockinette to 7 inches from cast-on edge.
