The Merehead & Whatley Quarries - With Both SW1001 Switchers Hard at Work! - 21.03.2025

First starting at Merehead Quarry, we see SW1001 Switcher, 44 'Western Yeoman ll', moving wagons to release 59104 and allow it to be moved out the way. Shortly after, DCR's 60055 rolls in on 6Z60 from Willesden, which is quickly removed from its train to allow 44 to pick the wagons up and get them loaded. Just a short hop away is Whatley Quarry, where we see their own resident SW1001 Switcher, 120 'Kenneth John Witcombe', shuffling about before 59001 arrives on 6C28 from Exeter Riverside. Whilst 59001 is moved off its rake, 120 is worked hard as it pushes a lengthy set of loaded wagons back into the quarry. With 59001 now stabled on shed, 120 is back to collect the recently arrived rake of wagons.
