When sneaking up on asynchronous, multithreaded, and parallel code, you first need to learn the basics and understand the terms used. Concurrency - running multiple tasks at once (not necessarily multiple at the same time). Depends on the software. The first OS with a processor without cores - used only it. Parallel - concurrency, when 2+ tasks are executed simultaneously. Depends on the hardware.
