RANDONNEURS ATTAQUÉS PAR DES CHIENS (PATOU, KANGAL) EN MONTAGNE

These attacks are increasing, and the likelihood of a real tragedy is increasing. So what are the solutions to avoid tragedies involving Pyrenean Mountain Dogs and Anatolian Shepherd Dogs? PS: There were several serious attacks during the summer, including this one: https://www.ledauphine.com/faits-dive... Some additional information from the video on the attacks by guard dogs. Yesterday, Thursday, June 3, 2025, Macron announced in Aveyron that wolves should be eliminated where there is pastoralism. He also said that he was in favor of biodiversity (but by killing wolves). This is the "at the same time" statement. Pastoralism, particularly in the mountains, involves large flocks of several hundred sheep trampling and grazing vast natural spaces and protected plant species. Most of the flocks present in the mountains in the summer are on transhumance, far from their sheepfolds. They therefore degrade the flora, contribute to soil erosion and mudslides, while polluting rivers with their droppings, which contain antiparasitic treatments, to the point of making the water in some mountain villages undrinkable. Water is the most essential element for life, especially for humans, who cannot survive more than two or three days without drinking. We can live without meat, but not without water. Furthermore, the herds transmit diseases to wild herbivores, such as brucellosis in ibex, which are then slaughtered... It's not certain that the residents of these mountain villages particularly appreciate the presence of these large herds. Contrary to popular belief, pastoralism is therefore not favorable to biodiversity, but in certain areas it helps limit the spread of fires. The wolf is an emblematic predator of this biodiversity, and scientific studies have proven that its presence helps revitalize and clean up ecosystems (particularly in Yellowstone). The wolf can be dangerous to humans in cases of rabies, but this virus has not circulated in France since 2001. And like any animal, it can be aggressive if threatened, but there have been no recorded wolf attacks on humans in France since its return in 1992. To protect herds, shepherds use guard dogs, but these dogs are not trained to prevent them from also attacking walkers and hikers. As a result, cases of attacks and serious injuries are increasing. This was the subject of this video I published the day before Macron's speech. Aid is also paid to farmers to monitor their herds or compensate them for wolf attacks. The wolf population in France is now estimated at just over 1,000 individuals. In France, we like to preach: we must protect the wild animals of Africa, Asia, and America (lions, elephants, rhinoceroses, panthers, tigers, jaguars, cheetahs, etc.), but as soon as there are 1,000 wolves in our country, then we must eliminate them... If Africans did the same, the planet would no longer have many predators. ✔️ To support the channel via Tipeee (and get the Blades and Steels Ebook in return). https://fr.tipeee.com/knives-and-steels 🔪 You can also support the channel through affiliate links while benefiting from certain discount codes.
