Air Conditioner In The Van For The Dog

This is our first summer in the van, we started van life mid September last year so we are all experiencing new things together. At this moment i am dealing with this summer hear and having a dog in the van while i work. I learned puppy sitters are un reliable so we bought an a/c unit for the van to plug in when i do weddings TO ANSWER SOME QUESTIONS THAT WILL COME UP: -NO, I would never cut a hole in the side of my van, pop it on my side window, install it permanently in the back of my van through the back window Because i live in a very mild climate and that just doesnt make sense to live with that all year long when it only gets hot here for about 6-8 weeks a year. BESIDES that would make my van look van. Remember i live in a city not the back country.. -NO, I am not concerned about safety and leaving my van unlocked because this will only be done at the one venue that I DJ weddings at. It is a secure private golf club and I have no concerns about the vans safety there. -NO, I don’t want a highly priced portable air conditioner with the tubes that I can pop on my side windows to make the install easier. This was a temporary “cheap“ fix to get me through eight more weddings. That’s it. Temporary and affordable. I can handle that AND i cant store the larger portable one at the golf club. This one is in a case so no one will know i have an air conditioner stored with my dj gear -NO, this will not be staying as a part of my van build. Like I said in the video this is just a temporary fix to keep my dog cool for those occasional hot days. Just trying to be safe for my little homey -NO, I will not need to figure out a permanent way to mount this in the future, like I said in the video the air-conditioner will be staying at the golf club with all of my DJ gear. I don’t want this humungous thing sitting in my van ever, takes up too much freaking room YES, i have heavy duty guage wire in my dj cable kits to run the ac unit. NOTES ABOUT MY COOLER -No, I do not want a fridge. I love having a cooler, I don’t care about buying ice every once in a while it’s really no big deal. I don’t always have ice in my cooler so I may buy ice a couple times a month. Sometimes I don’t buy ice at all because I get free ice from the places I DJ that. Buying ice is rare. I like the portability of having a cooler, it makes a good foot stool when I’m out at the beach, makes a good quick chair if I’m doing something inside or outside van, and you can’t take a fridge to the beach full of beer. But I can take my cooler. I will be replacing this cooler with whatever colour I feel fits best for me. Whether it’s an expensive yeti or some knock off that’s cheaper. No I will not manufacture a makeshift looking cooler on my own. Putting foam and stuff around it is OK if your cooler since permanent in the van but my cooler get moved just about every freaking day.
