ASÍ ES DONAR MÉDULA ÓSEA // Celesteiann
My only cure was a bone marrow transplant. And my donor was my sister. But 3 out of 4 people who need a bone marrow transplant don't have a compatible donor in their family. And very few people know that there's a worldwide registry where people who registered can (if they're compatible with someone who needs it) SAVE THEIR LIVES!!! And even fewer people know HOW EASY it is to donate bone marrow. That's why, when my sister donated, I decided to make this video so everyone could SEE that the bone marrow donation process is SUPER SIMPLE, PAINLESS, and saves lives. There are two reasons why people don't register as donors: 1- Because they didn't know this worldwide registry existed. 2- Because they believe donating bone marrow is dangerous, painful, or complex. After watching this video, those two reasons disappear. And the decision now, to be able to save someone's life with a blood draw, is just one step away: taking the courage to go to an authorized center to register and say, "Hi, I want to register as a Bone Marrow donor." Registration consists only of donating blood and signing a consent form. And if one day you're a match, they'll call you. All people between the ages of 18 and 40 who are in good health, weigh more than 50 kilos, and have no history of heart, liver, or infectious diseases can register as donors.
