I just had 2 clutches hatch within days of each other. There were a few unhatched from the first clutch (buff orpington) that I rolled under the 2nd mom, but they still did not hatch. After the 2nd mom (welsumer) left the nest for the whole day I decided to see what was inside the unhatched eggs. This is my first time with broody chickens and hatching at home so I was really curious to see the development cycle and find out why they didnt hatch. I did not candle the eggs at all, I just let the hens do what they do.
