This 2016 update not only introduces aesthetic changes inside and out, but also incorporates the X-Line package, which includes a hybrid powertrain that combines a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with an electric motor to deliver 231 horsepower and 37.4 kg·m of torque, managed by a 6-speed automatic transmission. On the exterior, the facelift is especially noticeable at the front, with new wedge-shaped daytime running lights that follow the design language of the latest Kia models, vertically oriented headlights, redesigned LED fog lights, and a grille that maintains its identity but with more pronounced details and active shutters that improve aerodynamics. At the rear, there are also tweaks to the headlights, updated internal graphics, changes to the reflectors, and a more horizontal look that reinforces the feeling of width. The package is complemented by new 18-inch wheels for this hybrid version, black wheel arches, a floating roof effect, and functional roof rails. Inside, the Sportage takes a leap forward in technology and perceived quality. The standout feature is the dual 12.3-inch screen for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, integrated into a single visual unit. The cabin offers soft-touch materials, high-quality eco-leather, a Harman Kardon sound system, configurable ambient lighting, a wireless charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a touch module that switches between climate and multimedia controls. The second row maintains excellent legroom and headroom, reclining seatbacks in multiple positions, and a trunk that can exceed 580 liters, depending on the type of spare tire. On the road, the new hybrid Sportage prioritizes comfort. Thanks to the hybrid system and the excellent soundproofing of the cabin, it's possible to drive in 100% electric mode under certain conditions, especially in the city and in heavy traffic, reducing vibrations and fuel consumption. The regenerative braking system, adjustable via paddle shifters, allows for increased engine braking and battery recharging without relying as much on the brake pedal. On the highway, the combination of the turbocharged engine and electric motor delivers excellent acceleration and stability, aided by the independent suspension and the strategically placed weight distribution in the lower part of the vehicle. The range in Peru consists of five versions: the LX Plus with manual and automatic transmissions, featuring a 2.0-liter engine producing 154 hp; the EX Sport with more equipment and comfort features; the X-Line with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine producing 178 hp and an 8-speed automatic transmission; and the X-Line Hybrid, which adds the hybrid system while maintaining the equipment level of the combustion-engine X-Line, but with 18-inch wheels and a temporary spare tire.
