Cycling the George S. Mickelson Trail in South Dakota
The Mickelson trail in South Dakota is a 109 mile long rail trail that winds through the Black Hills. This is the most scenic rail trail that I have ridden so far. The town of Deadwood is at the northern terminus. The trail goes through Lead, Rochport, Hill City, Custer, Pringle and ends at Edgemont at the southern terminus. Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse and Custer State Park are attractions near the trail worth visiting. Definitely put this trail on the "must-do" list.
