Acrylic for Beginners - Choosing Materials, Painting Techniques, and Lots of Helpful Life Hacks. Hello everyone! Those of you who've been familiar with my work for a while know me as a lover of pencil and graphic art. But I'm also not averse to paint. As a child, I loved gouache the most. That's why it was the first paint to appear on my channel. The main reason for my love of gouache is the lack of alternatives. Back when I was starting out as an artist (in the 2000s), art supply stores were scarce in our city. Money was also tight. So, gouache, as the most accessible and inexpensive paint, became the basis of my painting. And it's truly a good paint. I demonstrated its capabilities in the series about gouache. However, its strong lightening when drying, weak durability, and water resistance create many limitations when working with gouache. Therefore, if you're just beginning your artistic journey, I recommend starting with acrylic. This is a more modern and convenient art material. It's practically the same as gouache, but without many of its drawbacks. Acrylic doesn't change color when drying, is very durable and flexible, can be modified with special thinners, and can be used with water. These days, it's easy to find. For those just getting started with this wonderful art material, I've decided to release a whole series of video tutorials. This will be the first, introductory video. I'll tell you about the properties of acrylic, the necessary painting materials, demonstrate basic techniques, and give a ton of useful tips.
