"Parkinson meets Paul McCartney" Friday 3 Dec 1999 [Part 4]
"Parkinson meets Paul McCartney" was broadcast on BBC1 at 9:30pm on Friday 3 December 1999. Michael Parkinson and Paul McCartney go back a long way. Parkinson is one of the famous faces on the Band on the Run album cover. In exchange for appearing on the cover, Paul promised Parkinson an interview, a promise which took a very long time to fulfil! In 1997 Paul was interviewed by Parkinson on the radio [you hear that here: • Paul McCartney sets record straight on rel... ], but it's with this appearance on Parkinson's television talk show that he really fulfilled that promise. Parkinson is a great interviewer asking intelligent well thought out questions and genuinely listening to the answers. Paul is relaxed and his rapport with Parkinson is evident. The result is a fantastic interview, one of the very best he's ever done in my opinion. There are also a number of musical highlights, in this part you will hear: 05:07 - All Shook Up Enjoy!
