Twitter @juangangel Maintaining good welfare conditions for animals for human consumption not only responds to the ethical commitment of livestock entrepreneurs and responsible consumption trends, but is also a determining factor in the quality of meat products. In this program, we will learn about each of the processes that must be carried out in the plant, from the moment the cattle are received at the facilities until the final product is distributed to the various meat retailers. Animal processing plants can be defined as any establishment where animal species declared fit for human consumption are processed and that have been registered and authorized for this purpose. (INVIMA, 2016). Currently, there are 577 establishments in Colombia dedicated to this work; however, only 18 meet all the requirements and demands of INVIMA, the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance.
