Process Control in Ultrasonic Welding
In this video, we review process control in ultrasonic welding. Building on the fundamentals of ultrasonic welding (covered in a previous video), this session dives into how to control the ultrasonic welding process by understanding the effects of key inputs such as welding frequency, welding amplitude, power, and energy. Energy input in the weld can be controlled by selecting the right welding force, welding energy and amplitude. Force is set mechanically, whereas amplitude can be reduced electronically from a machine maximum value. Net result is the consumption of programmed energy in some amount of time which becomes a quality metric.
