The Electric Arc in Vacuum - Part 1
After a bit of trial and error and a lot of fabrication, I built a vacuum chamber to test high voltage breakdown under vacuum conditions. In this video, I give an overview of the vacuum chamber and I show two tests: a 3 kV arc at atmospheric pressure and another "arc" in a 22.5 inHg vacuum which initiates at 450 V AC across a 0.75" gap.
