Defqon.1 2026 was completely cancelled on Thursday evening. Due to the extreme heat and the very first Code Red for high temperatures in the Netherlands, the magnificent weekend was scrapped after all. A scenario that no one saw coming and that hit Weekend Warriors, artists, crew, and the organization like a bomb. That is why Wouter and Marijn are doing this episode of PLAFONDDIENST - The Hardstyle Podcast differently than planned. The previously recorded episode with DJ The Prophet is being moved to next week, so there is room to look back on a pitch-black weekend in the history of Defqon.1. In this special call-in episode, we speak with various people involved about what happened in Biddinghuizen, the intense images following the cancellation, the emotions at the campsite, and the many initiatives that were set up lightning-fast afterwards for stranded visitors. Because the hardstyle scene—just like organization Q-dance—showed enormous resilience.
