I have already made several nice little vases that are being well received by you all; thank you for that. To grow in woodturning, you have to step out of your comfort zone every now and then. And so it was today; I came up with an idea, made a mistake in my thinking, but just went for plan B. Simply continuing and making something of it is often the best approach.
