VINTAGE TOOL RESTORATION! 1950's CRAFTSMAN Industrial Dual Motion Sander! Model No. 135.22461

I got this Vintage 1950's Craftsman Industrial Rated Dual Motion Sander Model No. 135-22461 from the local goodwill for $4! It was sitting on the shelf for months and I saw it there unwanted after a couple visits. This sander has definitely seen some heavy use. It's accumulated plenty of dust, paint over spray and grime. I tried plugging it in an it wouldn't turn on. The switch has obviously been replaced at some point so who knows what the issue could be. Of note, the 135 prefixed craftsman tools were manufactured by Skil/Skil-Bosch. In this video I take the sander apart and make it look and work like new! Some of the operations performed include mirror polishing aluminum and the bakelite handle, sand blasting, powder coating and plenty of wire wheeling and hand sanding! It was a ton of work to get this sander to where it is after the restoration. Over 8 hours of sanding! It's not perfect as some of the pits in the aluminum were to deep to remove, but man what a difference!
