Padrão das Alminhas - Salto da Farinha, Poço Azul - long loop

Join us for a hike on PR21 SMI Padrão das Alminhas - Salto da Farinha (the long loop). A vertically enhanced circuit that delivers the potential of 5 waterfalls in a two hour hike (if you don't take breaks - or as slow as me). Waterfalls are dependant on sourcewater and may not always be enough to provide a full cascata. The trail starts in Achadinha and follows the roads down into the nearby valley where hiking splits away into nature. The area near Cascata do Risco has been recently updated (2025). Following this area is the hike back out of the valley - which does a good number to me during this recording (I am not the most fit person). From there, the trail leads you over to Poço Azul - which is a popular swimming spot during the hot summer months. Then, on this hike, we take the path over to Salto da Farinha and the next valley over with ocean views, a second waterfall, and one of the oldest bridgest in Nordeste. Once done looping down to the ocean and back we return to the place where we split off the short trail and make our way to the trailhead passing by another waterfall that is unmarked on maps and return to the trailhead (and is pretty much dry in this video). This is a popular trail and there will be others hiking with you.
