Frédéric François, 75 years old! His wife tearfully confessed the tragic loss of her husband. Born on June 3, 1950, in Lercara Friddi, Sicily, into a very modest Italian family, Francesco Barracato, known as Frédéric François, is the second child of Giuseppe Barracato, known as Peppino, and Antonina Salemi, known as Nina. His father was first a miner in a sulfur mine in Lercara; his mother was a seamstress in Lercara. The couple had eight children.[1] His father emigrated to Belgium's Liège coalfield,[2],[3] where he landed a three-year contract as a miner.
