Fourth And Final Red-tailed Hawk Chick Hatches | Meet L4! – April 29, 2022

L4 is here! After taking its time working out of the egg, the fourth and final Red-tailed Hawk chick hatched just before midnight on April 28. This marks the first time that there have been four chicks at the nest in the Cornell Hawks cam's 10-year history. Watch live at allaboutbirds.org/cornellhawks A Red-tailed Hawk pair has been nesting above Cornell University’s athletic fields since 2012. They make use of two different light towers for their nest sites. In 2012, 2015, and 2018–2021 they used a tower near Fernow Hall, and in 2013, 2014, and 2016, they used the tower nearest Weill Hall.
